Educational purpose and nature of content
The Ankl Man Podcast (“the Podcast”) and this website (together, “the Service”) are intended solely for the education and professional development of orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons, podiatric surgeons, trainees, and allied clinicians. All content — including audio episodes, video, show notes, imaging, case discussions, written articles, downloadable resources, and any other material made available through the Service — is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
Content on the Service reflects general discussion of clinical, surgical, and practice-related topics in the field of foot and ankle surgery. It is not, and should not be construed as, a comprehensive review, a systematic evidence synthesis, a formal statement of the standard of care, a practice guideline, or personalized medical or legal advice.
No medical advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes medical advice. Clinical decision-making for any individual patient remains the exclusive responsibility of the treating clinician, informed by that clinician's direct evaluation of the patient, the full clinical context, current literature, institutional policy, and applicable law.
Patients and members of the public who encounter content on the Service should not use it to diagnose or treat any condition, and should consult a qualified licensed healthcare provider for any medical concern. Use of the Service does not establish a doctor-patient, professional, or therapeutic relationship between Anish R. Kadakia, MD, any guest or contributor, and any listener, reader, or visitor. No such relationship is intended, implied, or created.
Conversational nature of statements; relationship to medical-legal expert work
Opinions, preferences, and observations expressed on the Service are offered in a conversational, educational context among clinicians discussing topics of shared interest. Such statements are general in nature, are not formulated within the evidentiary and analytical framework of a formal expert opinion, do not reflect case-specific review, and should not be construed as statements of the standard of care applicable to any particular patient, clinical scenario, or legal matter.
Anish R. Kadakia, MD, performs medical-legal consulting and expert witness work. Statements made on the Service are independent of, and should not be attributed to, any opinion rendered in the context of a medical-legal consultation, report, deposition, or courtroom testimony. Expert opinions rendered in a medical-legal context are based on case-specific record review, application of relevant literature and the applicable standard of care, and are subject to the evidentiary standards of the jurisdiction in which the matter is pending. Educational conversation on the Service is not a substitute for, and is not comparable to, that process.
Patient cases and de-identification
Clinical cases discussed on the Service are presented for educational teaching purposes only. Cases may be contributed by Dr. Kadakia, by invited guests, or by other clinicians who voluntarily share cases for discussion. Cases are presented with patient-identifying information removed. Where necessary, clinical details may be aggregated, abstracted, or altered to further protect patient privacy.
Guests and contributors who provide case material warrant that they have removed patient identifiers in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and any applicable institutional and state privacy laws, and that their presentation of the case on the Service is consistent with their obligations under applicable law and institutional policy.
Any resemblance between a case discussed on the Service and an identifiable patient is unintentional. If any person believes that information on the Service identifies or could reasonably be used to identify a patient, please contact us at privacy@theanklmanpodcast.com and we will promptly review and, if warranted, remove or modify the content.
Listeners, readers, and submitters must not provide patient-identifying information to the Service through any channel, including the “Ask the Show” form, email, or social media. Any such information received will be disregarded and, where practicable, deleted.
Guest contributions
Guests who appear on the Service express their own views. Guest opinions are not reviewed, endorsed, or adopted by Anish R. Kadakia, MD, or The Ankl Man Podcast. Guests are responsible for the accuracy of their own statements, the de-identification of any case material they contribute, and compliance with their own institutional, contractual, and legal obligations.
By appearing on the Service, guests grant The Ankl Man Podcast a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to record, edit, publish, distribute, and promote the recorded conversation and any supporting material they provide, in audio, video, written, and derivative formats, across any and all current and future distribution channels. Guests will be asked to confirm this license in writing prior to recording.
Listener submissions
Questions, comments, and submissions provided to the Service — whether through the “Ask the Show” form, email, or any other channel — may be used on air, in the newsletter, on the website, or in other content, at the discretion of The Ankl Man Podcast. Submitters grant The Ankl Man Podcast a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use their submission for these purposes. Submissions may be anonymized or attributed according to the submitter's consent preferences.
Submitting a question does not create a doctor-patient, consulting, or professional relationship. Submissions will not be used as the basis for individualized medical advice or clinical recommendation, and submitters should consult a qualified licensed clinician for any matter concerning their own care or the care of their patients.
Industry relationships and sponsorships
The Ankl Man Podcast is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking on behalf of any hospital, university, academic medical center, medical society, device manufacturer, pharmaceutical company, or other commercial entity. Statements made on the Service do not represent the views of any employer, affiliated institution, or professional society.
The Podcast may accept sponsorship, advertising, or other forms of commercial support. When sponsorship exists, it will be disclosed on the episode, in the corresponding show notes, and on the Disclosures page. The Podcast does not accept sponsorship in exchange for guest slots, editorial positions, or specific clinical content. Editorial decisions are independent of sponsorship.
Individual industry relationships of Anish R. Kadakia, MD — including consulting, research support, equity interests, royalty arrangements, and other financial relationships — are maintained on the Disclosures page and updated when material changes occur.
Third-party content and external links
The Service may reference or link to third-party content, including published literature, digital object identifiers (DOIs), institutional pages, manufacturer resources, and other external sites. Such references are provided for convenience and educational context. The Service does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, availability, or ongoing maintenance of third-party content.
Intellectual property
All original content on the Service — including but not limited to episode audio, video, artwork, written show notes, articles, downloadable resources, and site design — is the property of The Ankl Man Podcast or its licensors. Content may be shared, cited, and referenced in accordance with customary professional and academic norms, but may not be reproduced in bulk, repackaged, resold, or used commercially without written permission.
Downloadable resources provided through the Service are licensed to the individual user for personal professional use. They may be adapted for internal use within the user's own practice but may not be redistributed, resold, or incorporated into commercial products without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Ankl Man Podcast, Anish R. Kadakia, MD, and any contributors, guests, officers, agents, and affiliated parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on any content on the Service, regardless of the theory of liability.
Governing law
This Terms and Legal Notice is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and the parties consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
